One-on-One Counselling
Attending the first appointment with a Psychologist can be daunting and I commend you for taking this step. It can be difficult to let oneself be vulnerable and open up to a stranger. People come to counselling for different reasons such as changes in life, problems at work or home. Ultimately, I believe we all want the same… we want to experience freedom from whatever bothers us and live a fulfilling life.
I have almost 15 years of experience in psychology and counselling is my passion. I have shared the journey of self-discovery and growth with people from all walk of life such as Community Mental Health Patients, managers of large companies, students, jobseekers, emergency workers, offenders… (the list is truly endless!). I come to realise that my clients have been the best teachers and I am deeply grateful to them.
I have completed many professional development trainings and I do have quite a few certificates in evidence-based interventions; however, I believe that the best we can offer as therapists is to be warm, empathic and genuine.
I have a preference for Mindfulness Based and experiential approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Schema Therapy. I am also an Accredited Practitioner in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy with the EMDR Association of Australia.
I have learnt that the past is almost always having an impact on our present; luckily we can break free from it and develop our true potentials. I look forward meeting you!
